ABOUT ME

Greetings!

I am Shawn McMann. Originally from Massachusetts, I graduated from Fitchburg State University with a B.S. in Literature, then returned to my high school state of Florida to pursue teaching Language Arts.

In 2010, an amazing opportunity came my way when I was hired to take part in opening the new high school in Orange City, Florida - University High School. During my tenure at UHS, which caters to a student body of nearly 3,000 teenagers, I have taught 10th-12th grade English and Speech 101, as well as coached football, track, and bowling.

After much consideration and deliberation, I entered Michigan State University's College of Education in the fall of 2016. For the past three years, I have juggled teaching, chaperoning Europe trips, getting married, and studying the art of teaching.
